Social Media Associate

The Social Media Associate is responsible for implementation of social media strategies with a focus on channel monitoring, editorial planning and day to day execution. Depending on the client, this will encompass multiple channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. The Social Media Associate will also contribute to the building of social media subject matter expertise to the company, and drive results. Responsibilities also include collaborating with internal team members on creative and copy writing. Coordinating with website and mobile content managers in deploying creative to multiple web platforms as part of integrated campaigns is also part of the role.


  • Execute weekly and monthly social media plans
  • Help grow fan and follower base on key company social media outposts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.), while meeting or exceeding KPI requirements
  • Help analyze effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media efforts in order to determine campaign effectiveness through relevant monitoring tools and implement a strategic response
  • Create weekly media scans to surface potential content for publication to channels
  • Ideate, research, source creative, craft and edit posts for the client and company social channels
  • Collaborate with creative development resources in the development of social media creative, messaging page design etc.
  • Deploy social media content using a social media management system and solicit team and/or client approvals where needed
  • Monitor posts for any follow up or interaction, route comments in need of subject matter expertise to the appropriate parties
  • Stay abreast of key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social media/marketing  technologies and report on best practices


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, PR or equivalent
  • Relevant internships or previous work experience
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Dedication and desire to learn


  • Experience working with social media in a professional environment
  • Ability to talk and write in the brand voice
  • Candidates should have extensive knowledge of social media platforms
  • Proficiency on Apple iWork and the Microsoft counterparts Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with digital analytics and measurement tools
  • Experience with social media monitoring tools such as Brandwatch, Radian6, Sysomos, etc. is a plus (but not required)
  • Experience with digital production is a plus to coordinate with website and mobile channel managers in deploying the appropriate creative and content as part of integrated campaigns
  • Resourceful self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment who is well organized and detail oriented
