At MBLM digital designers understand the disciplines of visual design and user interaction so that the compelling digital experiences they create are grounded in intuitive functionality, interaction and navigation. The user interface designer is responsible for working in a team to maintain visual appearance, usability and brand continuity across digital platforms and devices. 

Organizational Status: Reports directly to Scott McLean, Senior Designer 

Core Responsibilities

  • Wireframe sites in high fidelity using sketches or briefing documents
  • Apply brand identity elements to create a comprehensive user interface design kit
  • Apply user interface design kit to wireframes and improve layouts during this process
  • Adjust desktop page layouts to include mobile and tablet breakpoints
  • Refine and finalize user interface design, page layouts based on feedback provided
  • Build web prototypes using Marvel or other current tool in use by the team
  • Update prototypes based on comments
  • Flow copy and images into prototypes
  • Assist with the selection of images, icons and other visual elements 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Gain foundational knowledge in accessible design through research and participation in training
  • Prototype or otherwise detail how user interface elements are intended to move and behave
  • Coordinate with development team to give additional details enabling programming
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, strategists, and developers
  • Present work progress to internal team
  • Participate in client review sessions on occasion
