Celebrating a future powered by nature

Prysmian, a global leader in cable manufacturing and energy solutions, needed to better link its sponsorship of open ocean sailing to its core business to derive more value from the initiative and drive attention. Prysmian partnered with MBLM to transform its connection with elite sailor Giancarlo Pedote into an avenue for differentiated stakeholder engagement.

The sponsorship became the keystone of the Powered by Nature campaign, and MBLM created an exclusive corporate event to generate meaningful opportunities to showcase the sponsorship. MBLM orchestrated the venue selection, event design and coordination, digital invitations and destination pages, teaser videos, social posts, outreach to keep guests informed, and a full suite of event swag and promotional materials.

By linking the spirit of adventure and achievement of open-ocean racing with Prysmian’s industry leadership and innovation, we created a new and visually exciting frame of reference for Prysmian’s ambitious trajectory. Giancarlo’s reliance on wind and solar energy throughout his around-the-world solo yacht races then became connected full circle back to Prysmian’s technology and its future.

Prysmian's applications and campaigns

The event, an afternoon celebration of renewable power and sailing, brought together key energy stakeholders on the East Coast to a branded space overlooking the New York skyline. Prysmian’s sponsored athlete, Giancarlo, had just sailed into New York days prior and was on hand to engage with visitors, recount how he braves the challenges of his weeks-long solo expeditions, and give stakeholders a tour of his IMOCA-class racing yacht. Prysmian representatives and key account leaders were on hand to engage with visitors and facilitate networking opportunities. Thoughtfully curated environmental designs, food, music, branded elements, and swag all added a memorable touch.

By transforming the sponsorship into a compelling narrative on the challenges faced on the path to sustainable energy, MBLM enabled Prysmian to elevate its sponsorship, differentiate itself in the market, and engage industry leaders in a way competitors could not. It also reinforced Prysmian’s position as a driving force in the renewable energy conversation, leveraging the power of storytelling and experience to deepen relationships with stakeholders.
